- The tenant is responsible for the regular cleaning and upkeep of the rented premises.
- Cleaning equipment and cleaning method must be chosen according to the surface to be cleaned.
Floors and general surfaces
- Floors must be vacuumed regularly, using a brush if a vacuum cleaner is not available, followed by a damp mop or hand towel.
- All integrated cupboards, kitchen worktops and shelves should be cleaned regularly with a mild detergent and a slightly damp cloth.
Washroom
- Regular thorough cleaning of the washroom is essential to maintain hygienic conditions.
- It is advisable to wipe off the water from around the sink, faucet and shower cubicle walls with a cloth immediately after use to prevent the build-up of limescale. If this is not done immediately it will be very difficult to remove the white rims afterwards.
- Particular attention should be paid to cleaning the inside and outside of the sink, faucets, shower nozzle, toilet bowl, lid and splash-board.
- Each surface must be cleaned using the appropriate cleaning products.
- Use detergents suitable for ceramic tiles to clean tiled walls and floors in the washroom. Apply the product to the surfaces and wash the walls with a brush or non-abrasive scrubbing sponge. Finally, wash the floors, rinse and dry.
- To clean glass and shower enclosures, spray bathroom cleaner on the surfaces. Clean with a brush or a microfiber cloth. Rinse and dry.
- To thoroughly clean the drain holes and trap, remove the trap lid and remove loose dirt. Pour the appropriate cleaning agent into the drain hole and follow the instructions for use of the product. Clean both sides of the trap and its lid with a brush. Rinse thoroughly with cold water.
Fridge and freezer
- The defrost water drain hole at the back of the refrigerator must be cleaned at least twice a year. If the drain hole is not cleaned regularly, the water will damage the woodwork of the kitchen furniture if it becomes blocked.
- Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning agents when cleaning the refrigerator and freezer.
- If the refrigerator and freezer are switched off, the defrosting must be monitored and the defrosted water must be drained from the inside of the cabinet before it spills onto the furniture and floor.
- For detailed instructions on cleaning the drain hole, please refer to the manufacturer's instructions, which can be found in the list of operating instructions on our website.
Walls
- A diluted detergent and a slightly damp cloth are suitable for cleaning painted walls. It is easier to remove stains before they dry.
- Dust on walls can be removed with a microfibre cloth.
Windows
- For windows, start with a damp wash of the sills and frames. Continue by washing and drying the window glass using suitable products. Windows should be washed at least every 6 months.
Stove and oven
- The stove must be cleaned regularly and any dirt that accumulates must be removed immediately, as dried grime is more difficult to remove.
- Cleaning should be carried out by soaking and using a cleaning agent and detergent suitable for the type of stove.
- Clean the oven, grates and hobs with an oven cleaner according to the instructions for use.
- The oven cooker hood and the grease filter shall be cleaned at least twice a year, or more frequently if necessary.
- For detailed instructions on cleaning the oven, please refer to the manufacturer's instructions, which can be found in the list of instructions on our website.
